Together Again

#SOL18 Day 30

my day awaits

there’s time to hesitate

no school today

family on the way

returning again

just for the weekend

gathering together

longing for fair weather

celebrating each other

a mother, a father and brothers

this thing we call family

we didn’t happen randomly

brought together in love

that came from above

no matter the distance

we’ll love with persistence

    • First of all, you don’t stink at writing. I just visited your slice today and it’s beautiful. I know I have read and enjoyed other slices from you this month too. I’m actually self conscious about the rhyming as the voice in my head says, “Serious writers don’t rhyme!” a rhyming dictionary or thesaurus is a great tool when writing. Enjoy the rest of your amazing trip.

      • Awww thanks so much! I should try out a rhyming dictionary. I always seem to write the cat jumped on the mat with the rat type rhyming poems, which is why I don’t do it. 🙂 I’ll be a risk-taker and give it a try one day!

  1. Wonderful to have a day to prepare for the family. I hope everyone will be smiling in the photos you take this time. 🙂 The short phrases force the reader to infer and complete the sentences mentally. Nice!

  2. I have tried to post this comment three times at home, so now I’m in the library. Hope it goes through.
What a blessing to have a day to prepare! I hope everyone smiles for the picture this time. 🙂
