Signs of Spring Day 22 #SOL21

I took a stroll in my yard today to say goodbye to winter and hunt for the signs of spring.

Snow has melted

No clumps left behind.

Robins scurry about

Happily searching for morsels.

Daffodil heads poke through the soil

Anxious to drink in the sun.

Tulip leaves short and stout

Ready to stretch towards the sky.

Asparagus not yet rising

Too soon for their knobby spears to appear.

The sun and blue sky overhead

Brings the promise of warmer days to come.

I am participating in the 14th annual Slice of Life Story Challenge by Two Writing Teachers. This is my third year of daily slicing during the month of March. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thanks for sharing a wonderful seasonal poem! I like how you limited your scope to your own back yard–that’s fun! Here in the south our tulips and daffodils are fading, but those are my favorite signs that winter is ending. Enjoy your spring!
