A Friday Limerick Day 25 #SOL22

I need just one copy

But this machine can be shoddy.

My badge swipe failed,

Maybe I should have bailed,

But then my math lesson would be sloppy.

Next I head to the door

I swipe my badge once more,

The light turns green

This is really keen!

My badge works like it did before.

I return to the machine,

With the magic number I feel like a queen,

Again my attempt failed,

The secret must be unveiled

Or pretty soon I will need some caffeine.

At last the machine lets me enter,

I place my paper in the center

Out comes my one copy,

Now my math lesson won’t be sloppy.

For now, I have conquered my tormentor.

The Masks are Off Day 21 #SOL22

Some masks were off for the first time today.

It was easier to hear what others say.

Smiling faces lit up the room.

I really hope it wasn’t too soon.

Our way of life may be returning.

May we remember all we’ve been learning.

Signs of Spring Day 22 #SOL21

I took a stroll in my yard today to say goodbye to winter and hunt for the signs of spring.

Snow has melted

No clumps left behind.

Robins scurry about

Happily searching for morsels.

Daffodil heads poke through the soil

Anxious to drink in the sun.

Tulip leaves short and stout

Ready to stretch towards the sky.

Asparagus not yet rising

Too soon for their knobby spears to appear.

The sun and blue sky overhead

Brings the promise of warmer days to come.

Rain Day 18 #SOL21

Rain, rain falling all day long.

Crocuses drinking

Waiting to spring to life soon.

Rain, rain falling all day long.

Brown grass turning green

Waiting to indulge bare feet.

Rain, rain falling all day long.

Stuck inside today

Waiting for sunshine and spring.
